      P. 91 (List begins) 'A List of Patents granted for LAND in this Colonyby The Honorable Alexander Spotswood, His Majesty's Lieuten't Governor &Commander in Chief of this Dominion.'

~DFL Note: This finding indicates that William The Elder's son Williammay have been born in England and not joined his father until he was oldenough to travel. Assuming he was born about 1685, he would have beenabout 26 years old when he came to Virginia or he was born in Virginiaand went back to England for some reason and then returned?~******************************** A fellow Featherstone researcher, ReataMcNutt of Charleston, Illinois, believes that William Featherstone, Ifrom England was in Virginia by 1726, in the Amelia County area.

~~DFL Note: This evidence indicates that William (II) was married toFrances Cross and was the son of William (I) a.k.a. 'The Elder.' Basedon this information we also can reasonably determine that William (I)died on or after December 23, 1718 and before February 8, 1726.----~~

Notes for Jane Featherstone: Per Carol Houston, in Texas, on SundayOctober, 25, 1998, a William Featherstone was transported to AccomackCo., Virginia in January 1664/1665 by Robert Richardson. Apparently thisWilliam had a daughter named Jane who married 1st John Cross and had ason William, she then married a 2nd time (after 1731) Francis Hardyman.
