    There is a War of 1812 Pension Application File on William with wife Cynthia. Georgia. Served with Alexander's Battalion Riflemen, Georgia Militia as a Private. Cemetery plaque is in honor of being the first person buried in this area. Edom was a stage depot town, and the family was just passing thru, when he took sick and died. Story goes they buried him under the tree where he died.
