'Funeral services for Elmer J. Featherston, 59, 205 North Cuyler wereheld at Sheldon's chapel, at Oak Park, Ill. (Story previously run inGlobe-Post).
Mr. Featherston died suddenly at Garfield Park hospital. The Rev.Clarence E. Showalter of Austin Westminster Presbyterian church, and theRev. Walter H. Nugent conducted the services, followed by interment atMount Emblem cemetery. Born at Kingsley, Iowa, Mr. Featherston had beena village resident for 22 years. For the past 20 years, he had made hishome at the Cuyler address.
He was associated for 30 years with the Kilbourn Drug Company, Chicago,and for the past 15 years he had been president of the company.
Mr. Featherston was a graduate of Babcock school of pharmacy, Des Moinesand a member of Illinois Pharmaceutical association.
A Mason, he was a member of Giblem lodge 322, A. F. and A. M. of LeMars,Iowa and Sioux City Consistory 5. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his widow Laura; a son John R. Featherston; a grandsonRex; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Payne of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Mrs.Kate Kitterman of Kingsley, Iowa, and three brothers, Fred of Kingsley,Walter and Gregg Featherston of LeMars. Relatives attending theservices were Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Featherston, Mr. and Mrs. CharlesTucker, Miss Ellen Dempster, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dempster, Mr. and Mrs.Lowell Dempster, Miss Mabel Steele of LeMars, Terry Featherston and Mrs.Phil Krieg of Kingsley and Mrs. Orville (sic--Orval) Brandstetter ofWayne, Nebraska. **Note--The interment location per this obituaryis Mount Emblem Cemetery, IL. His wife Laura died 17 Apr 1976. She isburied in the LeMars Memorial Cemetery, LeMars, IA. There is a doubletombstone placed for Laura which also includes the name of her husbandElmer J. Featherston and his birth/death dates.'
