- Imajean Marie Martin, Kokomo, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Monday, July 4,2011, at Sycamore Village Health Care. Imajean was born Aug. 7, 1928, inKokomo, to the late Russell and Ada Ruth Fording (Rowland). Her marriageto Franklin W. Martin, who preceded her in death in June 1997, was inHoward County on Aug. 22, 1946.
She worked at Haynes International for 38 years before retiring. She wasa member of the Eastern Star of Greentown, loved antiques, reading theBible and bird watching. She also loved watching the Colts and thePacers, but most of all she loved her family.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey A. (Evelyn L. Floyd) Martin; a brother,Bob Fording; two grandchildren, Joshua A. Martin and Michelle M.Thatcher; three great-grandchildren, Jordan A. Blakley, and Zachory T.and Adam D. Thatcher; along with four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, MarjorieHines; and a nephew. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at EllersMortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with an Eastern Starservice at 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday atthe mortuary. Burial will take place in Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorialsmay be made to the March of Dimes or the American Cancer Society.
