Diplomats and dignitaries attended Tony Fetherston's funeral the widow of a British millionaire shot dead on the Caribbean island of St Kitts said she is "relieved" at reports that a man has been charged with murder.
Tony Fetherston, 67, of Sutton, Suffolk, was shot in his yard by a gunman demanding money on 26 January last year. Now police have charged Joseph Hazel, of Basseterre, the capital of St Kitts and Nevis, with the crime. I always had faith that the police would see it through

His widow Margaret, 63, said: "I am awaiting confirmation from the authorities. "It is something of a relief after a traumatic few months. "I always had faith that the police would see it through." Mr Fetherston was a former RAF pilot and retired shipping industry executive who kept a holiday home on the outskirts of Basseterre.
Garden confrontation
He had been spending winters on the island for 15 years. He had gone out to his lawn when he heard noises and was confronted by a gunman demanding money, police said. When he said he had no money, the gunman allegedly shot him in the chest. Police said the arrest followed forensic tests conducted at the Metropolitan Police Forensic Laboratory in the UK.
Forensic scientists
Police on the Caribbean island first sent samples to Barbados and then to England for tests on a mask - cut from a pair of trousers - that was discarded by the alleged killer.
the samples spent seven months in England and were studied by some 15 forensic scientists before they were returned.
Fetherston was killed while his wife was on the phone speaking to their daughter Alexandra, who was in New York at the time.
His wife reportedly barricaded herself in the house and resisted efforts by the killer to enter the house before he fled
