- Chester County records also show that on APRIL 8, 1790, SARAH FEATHERSTON was fined three pounds, twelve shillings for bastardy. LITTLETON ISBILLS was fined the same amount and ordered to pay both fines; however, he obtained a delay, and these fines were set aside at the January Court of 1793. The fathering of Sarah's child was not Littleton's only connection with bastardy, nor was it hers. On another occasion, although he was not charged with the child's parentage, Littleton acted as security for Mary Mullings, who was also charged with bastardy. These occasions were, by no means, Littleton's only court appearances, since it seems that, at the very least, he was a deadbeat, being sued on numerous occasions for debt.
